Day 42- Find and post some inspirational or funny quotes

12 Sep

I feel like things have been a bit heavy here and in my soul for the past wee while. A lot of people get annoyed by funny pics or inspirational messages when they come up on FB butthey can give me my first laugh of the day or make me feel happier or make me thing about things! I always share the good ones. :D

What I want to try to do today is to stick some fun or inspirational quotes onto that section of my blog because I haven’t actually done that yet! I think it will lift me up looking for fun things and inspiration. Sometimes when you have been feeling down the words you really needed seem to come along, or the right book or person.

It will be nice to have a little corner of my blog to go to when I need to hear/see something positive. I was thinking of having one for photos/quotes, one for recommended inspirational books.. and I will think about what else… Poems maybe?

This might take me all day ..as I have a few things to do and I also need to learn step by step how to actually post links into posts. Thank to http://lizabethf.wordpress.com/ Lizabeth for taking the time out how to tell me how to do that…(Hope I manage!)

Anyway, by the end of the day..hopefully this page and myself will be filled with inspiration!!

Oh! Please send me links to your favourites and I will add them too! (erm when I learn) :D

Love and light and inspiration. xxLisa

Winner. If you think you know the answer to life, you didn’t understand the question.
From Jambo’s Big Book of Wisdom.

Runner up from Sharon Stone, ‘women can fake an orgasm but men can fake a whole relationship’.

Haha! Brilliant!! It’s going in! :D

Thanks – the other famous saying from Jambo’s Big book of Wisdom is ‘they threw me in jail for lovin’ you baby but they couldn’t stop my face from breaking out!’

Jambo sure is wise! :P :D

Gore Vidal always had great quotes here’s one that’s very topical “He’s everything we thought Bertie Wooster was – and God knows we worship Bertie Wooster, in the form of Hugh Laurie.” For more visit http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-19075751

I admire your strength. There is wholesome in letting people see that you are not perfect. To me imperfection is perfection. When people spend too much time repeatedly wearing GREAT, they crumble the moment a strand of their true self slips. So what you’re doing is living, perfectly! Thank you for allowing me to see this.

Wow.. Thank you so much for your beautiful words. They mean so much. What you said was exactly what I needed to hear right now.
      Love to you. xxLisa

To predict the behavior of ordinary people in advance, you only have to assume that they will always try to escape a disagreeable situation with the smallest possible expenditure of intelligence.

    Friedrich Nietzsche

I find it funny, but I’m not well…

LMAO.. It is funny.. Should it really go on my wall of inspiration?! :D
I find it funny too but I have a sick sense of humour. :/

    One of my recent favorites…
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It’s perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we’ve learned something from yesterday. –John Wayne

    (I had a crush on him when I was a little girl… I think I still do ;) )

“Miracles are like meatballs, because nobody can exactly agree on what they are made of, where they come from, or how often they should appear. Some people say that a sunrise is a miracle, because it is somewhat mysterious and often very beautiful, but other people say it is simply a fact of life, because it happens every day and far too early in the morning. Some people say that a telephone is a miracle, because it sometimes seems wondrous that you can talk with somebody who is thousands of miles away, and other people say it is merely a manufactured device fashioned out of metal parts, electronic circuitry, and wires that are very easily cut. And some people say that sneaking out of a hotel is a miracle, particularly if the lobby is swarming with policemen, and other people say it is simply a fact of life, because it happens every day and far too early in the morning. So you might think that there are so many miracles in the world that you can scarcely count them, or that there are so few that they are scarcely worth mentioning, depending on whether you spend your mornings gazing at a beautiful sunset or lowering yourself into a back alley with a rope made of matching towels.”
    ― Lemony Snicket

(If you haven’t read Lemony Snicket you should… even if they are meant for kids. Read them to Michael… he would LOVE them.)

And finally my favorite to share with children. I believe this is really true.

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. –Albert Einstein

    • forcingmyselfhappy September 13, 2012 at 9:24 am #

I love them all. I will pick a couple to put on my inspiration page! :D
I will look into buying Lemony Snicket for Michael. I’m pretty sure Jim Carey played him in a film too.. hmm not sure..

Maybe try a library. The series is 12 books long, so if he loves the first, you may go broke buying the next 11. And yes Jim Carey played Count Olaf (the evil antagonist). The books are much better than the movie (no offense Jim Carey). They just tried to cram three books into one movie.

        Happy Reading!

Ohh ok.. will Go to the library!
We often get book collections really cheap from ‘The book people’. The last collection we bought him was most of the children’s books of Roald Dahl. He loves them. I have the collection too but I read most of the books about 20 years ago!! :D

Had reason to use this quote recently: hell is not punishment, it is instruction. Forgive me for not remembering the exact address on the web, search or zen and poetry and you may find it. I have good intentions, I hope it keeps me out of trouble. Also, look at : joytotheworld@wordpress.com/2012/-6/20-21-pictures-that-will-restore-your-faith-in-humanity

    • forcingmyselfhappy September 13, 2012 at 6:18 pm #

I can see how that would work for people who believe in hell and I get the intention behind it though it’s very scary for my pretty wall! :D xx
I will post one of the inspirational pics on that site though!! xx
      Thanks xxLisa

(Oh wait just realised I can’t because I have to configure my email or something.. and I don’t know how to do it) :(

It is a bit scary. I have a big mouth, and don’t always cope myself, but that one went on the list of why detachment is so important. The Buddhist way is really helpful. For me anyway. Not anywhere near where I would like to be.

      • forcingmyselfhappy September 14, 2012 at 5:08 pm #

I think we are all ‘work in progress’ xx

        That’s a fact. :-)
