I AM TOO EXCITED ABOUT THIS ONE!!!!!
This tip came from an online site about things to do when you don’t feel happy and I think it is a great idea!! I was at the virtual check out and was about to send the toy off to my friend and I realised I couldn’t find my address book. I txt her to ask for it but there is no reply.. !!! How dare she have a life that involves turning her phone off!!!
*Hopefully she will txt me at lunch time!!*
Anyway.. this is what I got her:
Cuponk (Let it RIP zombie edition)- http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41yeE4n9YEL.jpg
She likes zombies like me and I thought it looked like a really fun game!!
I also got her this, you may think as a Joke but actually she is a wee weirdo (Like me) and likes Taxidermy (I bought her a stuffed stoat for xmas years ago!!)
That was just a wee extra..
Well, this was a really fun one today that made me happy. My friend will be really excited to open her Toy. One of the reasons I decided to send a wee present to her was because she is one of the only people who will still send me stuff through the post. I love getting stuff through the post.. even if it is the foil from a pot of hummus she got in New Zealand. I think it said Lisa on it.. haha.. It’s in my memory box for when I’m old and have forgotten about it I will get confused and think… Why?!
I think its a good thing to send people stuff through the mail. It takes a wee bit more effort that sending off an email and you have physically touched the thing you sent and it is tangible. I like the idea of passing something that has been in your hands to someone else. Email is great but you feel loved when you get something from a friend through your postbox I think!
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! xxLisa
nice ideas….
Thank you. Well I didn’t come up with this ..I’m not actually where I read it. :/
xx
This is great
I love getting stuff through the post too! It’s exciting!! xx
Me too! Even when I send myself stuff!! lol
I just did this the other day. Finally won something (a stuffed animal) in one of those grab the prize with the claw games! I sent it to my friend in Colorado along with a beautiful card. Pretty stoked to hear her reaction.
How fantastic of you and also skillfull.. you almost never win on those things!! We have an amusement arcade just down the road and we spent about £20 trying to win my friend that was into kinky stuff an S n M bear! (We could have bought one for about a pound!) lmao
Glad her reaction made you happy!
Giving to others is deffo something that makes us feel good even if it is just out time!
xx
Nothing says love like a letter or a card. I am sending my grand daughter one crochet flower a month that she can use for her hats. It’s so much fun, it makes me happy, and she isn’t even a year old yet.
I can’t wait to see what else I will come up with in the future.
Giving to others, whether it is tangible or an other intangible act of service always makes me happier in the long run than any other thing in this world. Giving I think makes us happier because not only did we make the other person happy, we made ourselves happy as well. And it is the kind of happiness that lasts. It’s a 2fer.
Have a great day!!
Rebecca
P.S. I was reminded of what someone I know and love said once:
“May I leave with you a simple yet far-reaching formula to guide you in the choices of life:
Fill your minds with truth.
Fill your hearts with love.
Fill your lives with service.”
This has never let me down.
Very beautiful ..I really like that. It’s what I want to be like all the time.
I know your grand daughter will love those flowers forever. How beautiful to be able to make something for someone yourself to give. I have written people songs before but I wish I could make people stuff. My good friend Chrisy has made me a cross stitched pic of Steve Irvine ..Which I treasure!!
What a good soul you are Rebecca.
Be good to yourself! xxLisa
To send someone something out of the blue is a great idea. My baby brother lost his favorite afghan that my mother crocheted for him when he was 1 year old. Since it was 1976, the year of the USA Bicentennial, the blanket was red, white and blue like our American flag. Well, after some hard times in his 20′s he lost it during one of his moves. I am 10 years older than him and remembered the blanket. Last year I made him a replica for his birthday. He was blown away and left speechless. It is wonderful when you can surprise someone. Peace Out.
Aww.. you did something beautiful!! Your brother is lucky to have you!

It always makes me happy to see the happiness of someone I give something to. Happier than getting a present myself.
Me too.. I love xmas when everyone is opening their presents!!!
I get excited thinking about how they will react!!
xxLisa
SO TRUE. LOOOVE “snail mail.” Next time, stick confetti inside your letter. When it gets opened, it will surprise them with a colorful little mess on the floor.
By the way, thanks for following my blog and liking my post, “Clutter galore!”
ooooh!! I will do that next time!!!
xxLisa
This is an exciting project. There is something I do that makes me happy and though I don’t do it every day, I do it consciously. However, the way i am going to explain it requires getting out a bit. so if you decide to do it, it goes without saying you alter it to fit your needs.
I’ve been giving away my art, specifically sculptures, by leaving them ’round town. I call the project Art ‘Round Town or ART. I’ve posted pics of most of them (in the beginning I didn’t take pics) on here: http://pinterest.com/merelinden/art/
Just 2 days ago, I was 3 minutes away from home at the lumber mill and put the latest one on their balustrade. I was taking the pic when car came round the back corner. I calmly returned to my car. The car pulled right up behind me. I took off and the man got out of the car walking back to the building. I wondered if he would chase me down or take my license or something. I thought at least he would take the sculpture down. Well, the next day as I went by, I noticed it was still there! I was very surprised. And now they’ve put up an iron fence around the whole place so it’s safe. Very odd circumstances indeed.
My point: You could try making art and leaving it in public places like the bus stop or something. Write things or whatever creative thing you like to do. Good luck
