It’s really liberating and also loads of fun to have a paddle in the sea. There is something nice about getting your feet wet. When people go to the seaside one of the first things they will do is take their shoes off, roll up their trouser legs as have a wee wade.. or as Michael did Jump right in!
I think there is something about water that makes humans happy. When things happen now I try to think of evolutionary reasons. I think people like water because.. hmm well they need it to to survive (probably a big reason!!). Cities are always built on rivers (Don’t quote me..!) .. Because people needed to fish, bathe, wash clothes, drink.. Not exactly sure where the settlers of here got drinking water… Hmmm maybe they just sucked out fish blood? !:D
I asked Michael to take a pic for me but he was too busy playing and digging a big hole so I took pics of myself having a paddle… It was very relaxing as the sun was going down and the beach was quiet.
^^My incredible monkey feet^^
I am always happy in nature. Actually I was having an almost panic attack before we left because I felt rushed. My partner said something like ‘I was going to let down a wee boy’ so I forced myself to go.. I was really anxious but when I was actually on the beach I was ok. Not sure about the tough love thing.. but I didn’t die or anything and actually being there on the beach I felt happy. I sometimes have to be reminded that I need to push myself to go out even when I am feeling anxious.. I think it’s the only way I will get better at actually going out.
It was great to see Michael having so much fun too. I found him an igneous rock that looked like a seal so he is off now looking up Igneous and sedimentary rocks and Sand Dunes too as that beach has them.. erm they are important for some reason.. and I’m not sure why. Next time I go I will read the wee information sign about them!

Good for you for nurturing your base chakra! So awesome for your well-being. Keep it up!
Thank you!
A day at the beach and not a sand castle in sight? I guess I’m just getting old
hehe.. It was just 20 mins at the beach ..it’s just five minutes away from us.
Maby a sandcastle the next time!!

I love the ocean! As soon as I can smell the ocean I get excited…even before I can see it. My husband reminds me it is just the smell of rotting sea life but I think it smells like peace. Maybe it is my Dutch genes, but I am happiest by the sea.
Jealous you got to take a dip. Glad you pushed through your anxiety and shared something you love with Michael.
Happy Sunday!

Rebecca..sometimes the sea smells of farts!!

Generally I love the smell of the sea but there have been times when the seaweed has been caught between wave guarding rocks the counsel put in the sea and it has got very rotten and sulphuric and nearly unbearable…normally though it is lovely!!
Your husband is hilarious replying to you like that!! haha.. Whether it is rot or not I know what you mean about the smell of the sea. It reminds me of holidays and feeling excited!
I’m glad I pushed through too.. we had fun!

There is definitely something about the ocean water – absolutely! This post reminded me of our recent trip to the California and me being so excited even though it was cold, I could at least put my feet in the water. I couldn’t get to the water fast enough. Aaah the feel of the ocean water cleansing me. Thanks for sharing this and reminding me of the ocean’s goodness.
Glad my post reminded you of your own happy memories!!
‘Cleansing’ is a nice word for how I feel at the sea actually.
